The Save Sierra College Committee, which formed in 2006 to recall two college trustees, has endorsed Rocklin's Elaine Rowen for the Area 4 seat, committee spokeswoman Cheryl Maki announced today.
Rowen is seeking the spot being vacated by Jerry Simmons in the Nov. 4 election, according to a news release.
After the committee formed in May 2006, leaders later changed the goals and have focused on identifying and electing new Sierra College trustees.
Rowen, who taught in the classroom for 30 years before becoming a superintendent of schools, also served as a trustee for the Menifee Union School District in Riverside County.
She is a member of the First Five Placer Families and Children Commission.
