The following information was provided by the Placer County Sheriff's Department and Roseville Police Department from reports available for public review.

• 180 N. Sunrise Ave., Roseville, arrest. John William Gaitero, 41, was arrested at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 in the parking lot at Fry's Electronics on suspicion of possessing marijuana or hashish, planting or cultivating marijuana and possessing a switchblade. Employees of Fry's Electronics had called police to report seeing Gaitero take marijuana plants out of a vehicle and transfer them to a truck.

• Luther Road and Highway 49, Auburn, arrest. A motorist was pulled over for failing to halt for a stop sign about 10 p.m. Aug. 9 and was then arrested for allegedly carrying nearly 45 grams of concentrated cannabis. Jeffrey William Curtis, 31, of Sheridan was booked on suspicion of possession and transportation of the drug.

• 3600 block of Bell Road, Auburn, theft. A $400, 38-caliber pistol being kept at a home was discovered missing about 3 p.m. Aug. 8. The owner said the theft could have occurred as early as May 1.

• 9180 Twins Schools Road, Granite Bay, attempted theft. Someone attempted to steal copper wire by removing the lids of underground electrical boxes at Ron Feist Park between 4:30 p.m. Aug. 8 and 5:50 a.m. Aug. 11. The culprit cut some of the wire, but none was discovered missing. Repair costs were estimated at $2,000.

• 4600 block of Dorchester Lane, Granite Bay, dispute. Sheriff's officers were investigating a woman's complaint that a moving company overcharged her when transporting furniture from Penryn to her home on Aug. 8. She said the company agreed to a price of $1,300, but that it did some unrequested work and later wanted $3,800. The woman said the two sides compromised at $2,000 but that she later discovered the company charged $3,299 to her credit card. She also claimed that some of her items were missing.

• 1200 Athens Ave., Lincoln, arrests. Sheriff's deputies went to the Thunder Valley Casino at 11:59 p.m. Aug. 7 to investigate an argument in the parking lot. They arrested Rio Linda residents Cynthia Elaine Bailey, 41, and Raymond Augustine Flores, 43, on suspicion of possessing heroin, syringes and a stolen credit card.

• 4900 block of Del Road, Loomis, theft. The doors on a Jeep were taken off their hinges and stolen between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 8. The owner estimated the loss at $1,300.

• 8700 block of McCourtney Road, Lincoln, theft, vandalism. Someone took a mailbox from in front of a home and also spray-painted graffiti on the victim's barn during the night of Aug. 9. Losses totaled about $200.

• 8300 block of Royall Oaks Drive, Granite Bay, vandalism. At least four BB holes were found in the front window of a victim's residence, causing about $350 in damage. The vandalism occurred between 9 a.m. Aug. 5 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 7.

• 10451 Fairway Drive, Roseville, arrests. Police arrested Jonathan Andrew Santellano, 20, and Steven Matthew McDaniel, 18, between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Saturday at Target on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy. McDaniel also was arrested on suspicion of petty theft with prior convictions and possessing burglary tools.

• 250 Trestle Drive, Roseville, vandalism. The principal of Vencil Brown Elementary School called police at 9:55 p.m. Sunday after asking five boys between the ages of 16 and 18 to stop skateboarding on campus. As the boys were leaving, one of them broke an exterior light outside the main office.

• 10001 Fairway Drive, Roseville, burglary. Home Depot was broken into at 1:11 a.m. Monday. It was unknown if anything was stolen.

• 212 Harding Blvd., Roseville, vandalism. Someone used a large rock to break the front door at Radio Shack at 2:11 a.m. Monday.

• 1700 block of East Roseville Parkway, Roseville, burglary. A resident returned to his apartment after a vacation and discovered that it was littered with debris and property was missing. The burglary occurred between 10 a.m. Aug. 3 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 21.

• 2100 block of Ashton Drive, Roseville, burglary. Appliances valued at $2,950 were stolen from a home under construction between 4:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and 8 a.m. Aug. 21.
