Placer County officials will host a community forum Thursday to provide information and an overview of the Gladding fire that destroyed six homes and burned 960 acres north of Lincoln on Sept. 1 and 2.
The forum will be at 7 p.m. in Mount Pleasant Hall, 3333 Mount Pleasant Road, Lincoln.
Fire and law enforcement officials and representatives from other emergency response agencies will be in attendance to participate in a panel discussion and to answer questions about the fire.
Placer Supervisor Robert Weygandt said the county wants to make sure residents are given the best information about the fire, its aftermath and services available to the public.
"I have lived most of my life in the Lincoln area, and I had never seen anything like the Gladding fire," Weygandt said in a news release. "The community meeting will be a good opportunity to talk about the lessons learned from the fire and continue our education about steps residents can take to help protect their homes from wildfires."
