A Roseville official has been recognized for his groundbreaking work in a recent issue of American City & County magazine.
Rob Jensen, Roseville's Public Works director, was named Public Works Director of the Year by the magazine, which also featured him in a cover story in its August issue.
Jensen, 46, has been instrumental in overseeing several key infrastructure improvement projects for the city, a Roseville city news release states.
Projects that Jensen has been involved in include multiple upgrades of major inter- sections, completion of the Sunrise Avenue- Douglas Boulevard project and helping the city become the only municipality in the country to achieve a Class-1 flood protection rating from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The city earned the flood-protection rating for its efforts to reduce future flood losses by educating residents about flooding, changing zoning rules and building regulations, preserving open space as floodplains and other protective measures, a FEMA news release states.
The rating means citizens are receiving a 45 percent discount on their flood insurance premiums, the release states. To see a copy of the American City & County story about Jensen, go to americancityandcounty.com.
