One of two missing tricycles used for special-education students has been found - in the property storage room of the Roseville Police Department.
The tricycle initially had been found by a citizen Nov. 19 on a trail behind Eich Middle School in Roseville, said police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther. An officer retrieved it and booked it into the department as found property, she said.
On Nov. 27, officials from the Placer County Office of Education discovered that its storage shed on Sierra Gardens Drive had been broken into and that two adaptive tricycles used for physically disabled students were missing, Gunther said.
The theft occurred sometime between Nov. 15 and Nov. 26, county school officials reported.
When the officer who took the Nov. 19 report learned Wednesday that the two tricycles were being sought, he reported that one was probably in the property room, Gunther said.
"The tricycle appears to be in excellent condition," she said.
The whereabouts of the other tricycle remain unknown. It is a blue Rifton TMX tricycle and is valued at $1,500, Gunther said.
