A Rancho Cordova man and two teenage boys were arrested Monday night after allegedly stealing alcohol and a bouquet of flowers from a Roseville Safeway and punching a store employee.
Yuriy Varkentin, 19, along with two 17-year-old boys from Roseville and Lincoln were arrested on suspicion of robbery, burglary and conspiracy, according to Roseville Police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther.
Varkentin also was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
About 10:27 p.m. police received a call that four young men had taken four liquor bottles, beer and flowers from a Safeway on Pleasant Grove Boulevard. When a store employee tried to stop them, one of the suspects punched him in the face, authorities said.
Police apprehended three of the suspects on foot and recovered two cases of beer.
The fourth suspect, described as a man in his 20s, fled in a white Acura 4-door sedan with no license plates.
Varkentin is being held in the Placer County Jail on $60,000 bail. The two teenager suspects were taken to Placer County Juvenile Hall.
