GRANITE BAY Trustees of Eureka Union School District have announced they will begin discussing a search for a new superintendent.
The position will be open after June 30, when Superintendent Bob Schultz, 58, has said he will retire after four years as head of the district and 36 years in education.
The board will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the district office, 5455 Eureka Road, to review a time line for selecting Schultz's replacement and to consider hiring a consulting firm to assist in the search, said Vivian Gundestrup, executive assistant to the superintendent.
The board will go into a closed session to discuss contract and search parameters, she said. Trustees will announce any actions taken during the private session, she said.
