Booze plus chain saw leads to jail

Published: Friday, Dec. 28, 2007

Drinking and chainsaws don't mix.

Just ask the Roseville residents who called police at 2 a.m. today to report that people at a neighborhood home were arguing loudly and using a chain saw to cut down a tree and even the mailbox at the residence, said Dee Dee Gunther, a police spokeswoman.

Officers responded and arrested two men at the home in the 800 block of Shearer Street, she said.

Cory William Robinson, 21, of Roseville was booked into the Police Department's jail on suspicion of public drunkenness while David Andrew Boyd, 21, of Fair Oaks was arrested on a Sacramento County warrant for a prior vandalism incident, Gunther said.

No charges were made over the cut tree or mailbox, she said.

"There's no crime in cutting down your own mailbox," Gunther said.
