Public schools in Foresthill were closed today because of poor road conditions caused by snow over the weekend.
Sue Lunsford, principal of Foresthill High School, said the decision was made because icy roads made it difficult for buses to pick up children.
"It was pretty treacherous," she said. "We got enough snow - about two inches - overnight, so the roads were not plowed this morning. We have many side roads up here, and the buses would have had a hard time getting to the children."
Lunsford said no decision has been made for Tuesday but that she expected school will resume.
