Two 16-year-old boys have been cited by police on suspicion of arson for a grass fire that occurred Sunday in Rocklin.
The fire burned about an acre in a field near Ranch View Drive and Windrow Lane shortly after 3 p.m. before Rocklin firefighters extinguished it, Police Lt. Lon Milka said.
There were no injuries, and no structures were threatened, he said.
Two boys were seen walking away from the area by a witness and by Lincoln police, Milka said. The boys, both from Lincoln, were later spotted again by police and detained, he said. After being cited, they were released into the custody of their parents, he said.
The case will be referred to the Placer County Probation Department and then the District Attorney's Office for review, Milka said.
