AUBURN Bob Houston, a lobbyist and longtime Meadow Vista resident, has declared his candidacy for the District 5 seat on the Placer County Board of Supervisors.
Houston will challenge incumbent Bruce Kranz, who announced his re-election bid two weeks ago. District 5 encompasses areas north and northeast of Auburn and includes the community of Foresthill.
Houston, 71, founder of Corporate Advocates, a government affairs firm, said he isn't part of any "political machine."
"I will be an independent and experienced voice for the people of Placer County," he said in a news release.
