A 22-year-old man was arrested today in Lincoln for allegedly beating a man and leaving him bleeding from head wounds about 1:20 a.m. at H and Second streets, city police said.
Leonardo Mariscal III, of Lincoln, was booked in the Placer County jail on charges of battery with serious bodily injury and for violation of parole, a Police Department news release says.
Mariscal was arrested at his residence, near the site of the attack, after the 53-year-old man who was beaten identified him as the assailant, Lt. Paul Shelgren said.
Police said they began first aid on the injured man, who was taken by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Shelgren said police are investigating the incident, which seems to have been sparked by an argument that got out of hand.
