Old friends will meet with old-school coaching values, and throwback teams in terms of grit and hustle.

Sheldon and Burbank high schools posted opening-night upsets in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I field. Upsets, that is, if you base it strictly on seeding.
• Dano Graves completed 20 of 29 passes for 364 yards and five touchdowns and ran for another; Kori Babineaux had eight catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns; and Jordan Richards had five catches for 95 yards and a TD, seven carries for 69 yards and a blocked field-goal attempt in Folsom's 42-7 win over Woodcreek.

Devontae Butler ran with power and purpose, leaving cleat marks on the chests and chins of overwhelmed Tokay Tigers.
If you play defense at Folsom High School, you had better get used to being overshadowed.
