Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was hospitalized Monday morning in Las Vegas, the victim of an apparent robbery.
Police responded to a report of a man down near the intersection of Winnick Avenue and Koval Lane at approximately 7:19 a.m. Walker was found unconscious and taken to Sunrise Medical Center with "significant injuries" including an orbital fracture, according to a Las Vegas television station.
A Raiders spokesman said the team was "in the process of gathering information" Monday.
Walker, 29, signed a six-year, $55 million deal with the Raiders in March. It included $16 million guaranteed, $11 million to be paid this season. Published reports had Walker partying in Vegas by spraying partygoers at night clubs with expensive champagne over the weekend.
One report had Walker spending $15,000 on one round at a Las Vegas nightclub where he was until 6:30 a.m. Monday, less than hour before he was found by police.
Walker had been taking part in organized team activities at team headquarters in Alameda. Players work out Tuesday through Thursday.
