1. Glenn Dorsey, 6-2, 313, Sr., LSU. Dominant against the run and can cause problems in the passing game. Makes plays all over the field. Some question injury history.
2. Sedrick Ellis, 6-1, 308, Sr., USC. Strong at the point of attack. Uses stocky build to his advantage against taller blockers.
3. Kentwan Balmer, 6-5, 308, Sr., North Carolina. Not in the same class as Dorsey or Ellis, but has the size and strength to take on double teams. Still raw and only a one-year starter.
4. Trevor Laws, 6-1, 297, Sr., Notre Dame. Extremely productive with 112 tackles from the interior last season. Like other prospects at the position, is on the short side, but solidly built.
5. Pat Sims, 6-2, 301, Jr., Auburn. Raw player who uses natural ability to excel. Might have benefited from another year in college.
