Recipe: Oven-roasted potatoes

Don Lutz of Carmichael was looking for a recipe for oven-fried potatoes, sometimes called wedgies.

This simple recipe comes from JoAnne Ban of Penn Valley. Look for more oven-cooked potato recipes in an upcoming Mailbox.

Ingredients

4 medium potatoes, cut into wedges

1/3 cup olive or vegetable oil

one envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a 9-by-13-inch baking pan, combine all ingredients until potatoes are evenly coated.

Bake uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 35 minutes or until potatoes are tender and golden brown.

Per serving based on 4 servings: 327 cal.; 4 g pro.; 39 g carb.; 18 g fat (3 sat., 13 monounsat., 2 polyunsat.); 0 mg chol.; 1229 mg sod.; 3 g fiber; 3 g sugar; 49 percent calories from fat.
