Roseville police handed out 88 traffic citations, mostly for speeding, during a zero tolerance enforcement operation Tuesday in the Blue Oaks Boulevard and Fiddyment Road areas in the northwest part of the city, a department spokeswoman said.
The posted speed limit in those areas is 45 mph, she said, but most drivers issued tickets were clocked at between 58 and 60 mph, police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther said.
Gunther said police timed one motorist at 76 mph and another at 71 mph.
The traffic enforcement effort, designed to remind drivers to reduce their speed, was conducted from 6 to 10 a.m., she said.
