Incumbent Ami Bera won a slim victory during Tuesday's Republican primary for the 7th district U.S. Congress seat, capturing about 53 percent of the vote.
Bera, D-Elk Grove, dominated the contest in the western part of his district, particularly among voters in Rancho Cordova, Arden-Arcade and Elk Grove. Sacramento Sheriff and Republican Scott Jones did well in the more conservative eastern portions of the county, including Citrus Heights and Folsom.
The two will meet again in the November general election. This map shows, by precinct, how each neighborhood voted in this race.
