After Week 5 of the NFL season, only three teams are undefeated.
Which one has the best chance to win all 16 games this season?
It's no surprise the Broncos are 5-0, even if they barely escaped Sunday's shootout with the Cowboys. Their offense is by far the class of the league – they've scored 230 points, and quarterback Peyton Manning has passed for 1,884 yards and 20 touchdowns.
While Manning might become the first quarterback to throw for more than 5,500 yards and more than 50 touchdowns, it will be difficult for the Broncos to go undefeated if they continue to get torched on defense.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had a career day against Denver, passing for 506 yards and five touchdowns, and receivers Terrance Williams, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten each had more than 120 yards. Of course, Denver's defense should improve when cornerback Champ Bailey returns from injury and linebacker Von Miller returns from suspension.
The oddsmakers certainly like the Broncos – they opened Monday as 28-point favorites for Sunday's game against Jacksonville, the largest spread in NFL history.
We're looking forward to the Broncos' two games against the Chiefs on Nov. 17 at home and Dec. 1 in Kansas City. If they win both, they can run the table.
Speaking of the Chiefs, why aren't more people? They're the NFL's biggest surprise so far. They've allowed just 58 points, running back Jamaal Charles appears in top form, and quarterback Alex Smith has played as advertised – solid, not spectacular, but a winner. The toughest games left on their schedule are those two AFC West showdowns with Denver.
The Saints have been a big surprise, too. They're undefeated just a year after going 7-9 in the wake of Bountygate. Quarterback Drew Brees is off to a great start (second in passing yards to Manning), and the defense has been solid.
It wouldn't be a surprise if the Saints wound up with the most victories of the three current undefeated teams.
What to watch
