Ashley Lotoszynski’s three-run home run for UC Davis with two outs in the sixth inning erased a two-run deficit, but host Stanford rallied for two runs in the bottom of the inning and beat the Aggies 4-3 in a nonconfererence softball game Wednesday, UCD reported.
Lotoszynski’s blast – the first of her career – came with the Aggies (4-8) trailing 2-0. Kelly Zboralske walked and moved to third on a double by Christina Guidry. That brought up Lotoszynski, who worked the count to her favor before launching a 3-1 pitch over the wall in left field.
Stanford (8-4) scored both of its sixth-inning runs with two outs. Back-to-back RBI doubles by Kayla Bonstrom and Cassandra Roulund put the Cardinal back in front.
Christa Castello, Alexis Carney and Amy Nunez walked to load the bases with one out in the seventh inning, but UCD couldn’t push across another run.
