Marcus Gilbert, Inderkum
There are breakout games and then there is what Marcus Gilbert uncorked last Friday night. The 5-foot-7, 170-pound senior fullback rushed for a career-best 162 yards on 14 carries, averaging 11.6 yards per attempt. Gilbert ran for a touchdown and caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Spencer in a 27-18 victory over Yuba City. The win allowed the Tigers to grab an early share of the lead in the Tri-County League a year after Yuba City halted Inderkum's five-year title run. Gilbert is The Bee's Prep Player of the Week through voting of fans on sacbee.com. His previous rushing high was 87 yards, achieved as a sophomore against River Valley.
