Tuesday night’s game between the A’s and the Cleveland Indians has been postponed due to rain, marking the first postponement at the O.co Coliseum since May 5, 1998. The A’s announced the game will be made up Wednesday as part of a split doubleheader. Start times will be 12:35 and 6 p.m. Tickets to Tuesday’s cancelled game will be valid for entry to the 6 p.m. start, the A’s announced. Fans with tickets to Wednesday’s 12:35 p.m. start will have to buy a second ticket to attend the 6 p.m. game. Left-hander Scott Kazmir, who was scheduled to make his A’s debut Tuesday night, will now start the first game of the doubleheader, A’s manager Bob Melvin said. The A’s starter for the second game is TBA. Jesse Chavez, who was scheduled to start Wednesday, will likely be pushed back to Thursday with the entire rotation moving back one day. The A’s could bring up a pitcher from the minor leagues to start the second game of the doubleheader.
