Pregame notes: Kings focusing on defending without fouling

The Kings know they need to play better defense, but Kings coach Michael Malone wants the Kings to do so without putting the Houston Rockets on the foul line excessively.
Rockets guard James Harden is second in the NBA with 9.8 free throw attempts per game. Center Dwight Howard is third at 9.1 attempts.
The key to the fouls is Harden. The Kings figure to foul Howard intentionally more than once rather than give up dunks.
If Harden piles up points at the foul line, chances are the Kings’ big men will be in foul trouble because of Harden’s ability to attack the rim.
Prediction time: The Rockets are first in the NBA in scoring. The Kings are 28th in points allowed. That’s a bad combination for a team coming off two of its worst defensive showings.
Rockets 115, Kings 102
My record: 13-8
