The Kings will keep Aaron Gray in the starting lineup tonight when the Kings host the Denver Nuggets tonight at Sleep Train Arena.
DeMarcus Cousins (sprained left ankle) and Rudy Gay (strained left Achilles) will both miss their second consecutive game. Derrick Williams will start for Gay.
Kings coach Michael Malone considered not starting Gray because the Nuggets play small so much, but Gray’s ability to set screens and get teammates open makes him valuable.
If Gray has problems keeping up, Malone will turn to Quincy Acy to play against the smaller Nuggets.
Malone said it will be decided after tonight’s game if Cousins and Gay travels to Utah for Monday’s game against the Jazz.
Prediction time: The Kings can’t expect Marcus Thornton and Isaiah Thomas to combine for 80 points again. And without Cousins to help dominate the glass, J.J. Hickson and Kenneth Faried could have big rebounding numbers.
Nuggets 105, Kings 94
My record: 25-17
