Pregame notes: Streaking Spurs garner admiration of Malone

Kings coach Michael Malone believes the San Antonio Spurs are the best team in the NBA.

There is some evidence to support that:

• The Spurs have won 11 straight.
• • • The Spurs have the best record in the NBA at 51-16.
• The Spurs still have the best coach in the NBA in Gregg Popovich.

The Kings have played the Spurs tough this season, nearly winning both games in San Antonio. But the Spurs are playing their best basketball of the season and have the players to exploit what has been shaky Kings defense.

• Popovich said all of his players would be available for tonight’s game. Some might sit out tomorrow’s game at Golden State.
• Prediction time: Hard to go against the Spurs when they’re playing this well.

Spurs 108, Kings 100

My record: 41-26 (minus the pregame session missed due to travel issues).
