Duke forward Rodney Hood will not take part in Saturday’s pre-draft workout for the Kings, the team announced Friday. No reason was given for the change.

Hood was the most highly-touted prospect part of the six-player workout and a projected first-round draft choice.

The Kings pick eighth in the NBA Draft, June 26.

St. John’s forward JaKarr Sampson will take Hood’s place in the workout.

The player who figures to draw the most media attention Saturday is Xavier Thames, who played at Pleasant Grove High School before a standout career at San Diego State, that included being named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year following his senior season.

Thames began his college career at Washington State.

Below are the six players for Saturday’s workout:

Kyle Casey (Harvard) 6-7, 225 forward

Jarell Eddie (Virginia Tech) 6-7, 220 forward

C.J. Fair (Syracuse) 6-8, 215 forward

Joe Jackson (Memphis) 6-1, 174 guard

JaKarr Sampson (St. John’s) 6-9, 214 forward

Xavier Thames (San Diego State) 6-3, 190 guard
