Kings general manager Pete D’Alessandro met with the media Monday to discuss Thursday’s NBA Draft. The Kings own the eighth overall pick and are exploring options, including trading the pick, leading up to the Thursday.

D’Alessandro also talked about Rudy Gay opting in for next season and what it means for the Kings’ draft strategy.

• D’Alessandro also said the qualifying offer for Isaiah Thomas is imminent. The Kings have until June 30 to extend the offer (worth approximately $1.1 million) and make Thomas a restricted free agent.

“I think that I’ve got to review that today,” D’Alessandro said. “I’ve got to call his agent today but there’s no question we’ll qualify him.”
