Nik Stauskas’ long day of travel ended nearly two hours later than planned thanks to flight delays, but that didn’t stop a group of fans from welcoming the Kings’ first-round draft pick at Sacramento International Airport shortly after 11 p.m., Friday night.
Stauskas will be formally introduced by the team at a press conference Saturday morning at the Kings’ practice facility, but more than two dozen fans decided to greet the 6-foot-6 guard.
Stauskas said he hasn’t spoken to his new teammates yet, except through Twitter.
But he did say he plans to not allow Chris Mullin to beat him in a three-point shooting contest after Mullin won the contest during training camp last year.
