The Kings held the first practice of their summer league minicamp Monday morning at Spring Valley High School.
“I’m excited to be back in the gym, working with our guys,” said Kings coach Michael Malone. “And with everything else going around, you can always go to a gym and find a peace about yourself. I just love getting in the gym.”
The Kings will practice again at 5:30 p.m.• Forward Derrick Williams (personal reasons) was not at practice. He is expected to join the team Wednesday morning.
• Malone said he is message to rookie Nik Stauskas was to not do “too much” on the court in his first practice. Malone praised Stauskas’ work ethic, stating Stauskas wanted to shoot in the gym following his media and public commitments on June 28 after being drafted.
