The Kings trailed 22-7 in the first quarter before finding their way and eventually cruising to an 89-75 win over the NBA D-League Select in summer league play.
Five players scored in double figures, led by Ben McLemore’s 18 points. McLemore continues to show improvement after his eight-turnover outing in the summer league opener.
Ray McCallum had a game-high 12 assists, too.
Derrick Williams added 17 points.
“Coach wanted me to be a little more aggressive and I took on the challenge,” Williams said. “That’s what I’ve got to do every game, especially on the defensive end. Try to talk a little bit more especially being one of the older guys in the group for summer league. just be out there talking more and being more aggressive.”
Another player that impressed was backup Eric Moreland, who grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench.
