There hasn’t been much said publicly Sunday as the Kings continue to negotiate to make George Karl the team’s new head coach.
Kings general manager Pete D’Alessandro met with Karl last week and has led the push to get a deal done.
It’s still a drastic change from the Kings’ stance since December after firing Michael Malone and stating Tyrone Corbin would finish the season as coach.
The Kings had reservations as to whether Karl was the right coach, specifically for All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins.
That’s a reason Cousins and those close to him were upset at the notion he and his representatives were holding up a deal.
Cousins was a big supporter of Malone and if his opinion would have been influential, Malone would have been retained.
