MATCHUP TO WATCH
Titans tight end Delanie Walker vs. 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis
As was the case when he was with the 49ers, Walker lines up in a variety of positions in order to create the best matchup for the offense. The ideal scenario for Tennessee would be to line him up against Willis, who is still not at top speed after sitting out two games with a groin injury. Walker has only modest receiving numbers in the Tennessee offense so far. But he is warming up after missing most of the offseason with a knee injury, and he's been targeted more often in recent weeks.
THREE KEYS TO GAME
The 49ers' skill players will have to remember to squeeze the ball tightly. The Titans are allowing 111.2 rushing yards a game, but they have forced six fumbles already this season, and have recovered a league-high four of them.
A thin and injured 49ers defensive line will face a Titans running attack that has yet to get on track. Chris Johnson averages 54.5 rushing yards a game, ranking 22nd in the NFL. What's more, the speedster has just one run of more than 20 yards.
The 49ers need more pop from their return game. Kyle Williams has 16 fair catches on punts this season, which leads the league.
