Gary Brown lined a one-out single to break a 1-1 tie as Salt Lake erupted for six runs in the ninth inning to beat the River Cats 7-1 Friday night at Raley Field.
Kaleb Cowart added a three-run double and Grant Green a two-run homer in the ninth for the Bees, who ended Sacramento’s winning streak at four games in front of an announced sellout crowd of 14,120. There was a fireworks display afterward.
Chris Stratton threw eight innings of five-hit ball for the River Cats, giving up one earned run and striking out four. Cody Hall took the loss in relief.
Xavier Avery and Darren Ford each had two hits for Sacramento, which fell to 36-46 on the season.
