New NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will arrive in Sacramento on Wednesday late in the morning or early in the afternoon – if an approaching East Coast snowstorm doesn’t delay or cancel his charter flight from New York.
Silver, who took over for David Stern on Saturday, is expected to tour the Downtown Plaza – getting his first look at the site of the proposed sports and entertainment complex – and meet with Kings owners, Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson and local business and political leaders.
The longtime NBA executive also plans to attend Wednesday’s Kings-Raptors game at Sleep Train Arena before traveling to the Bay Area. His itinerary includes meetings with Golden State Warriors officials, who are attempting to build a new arena on two piers in San Francisco, and technology experts in the Silicon Valley.
