2. Connecticut (1-0) beat Western Carolina 81-55: Hasheem Thabeet (7-foot-3) towered at least seven inches over any defender and led the Huskies with 23 points and 17 rebounds.

5. Pittsburgh (1-0) beat Fairleigh Dickinson 86-63: In just over a half, DeJuan Blair scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds for the Panthers.

7. Texas (1-0) beat Stetson 68-38: A.J. Abrams counted five three-pointers among his 21 points for the Longhorns. It was his 18th game with at least five three-pointers.

11. Purdue (1-0) beat Detroit 82-50: JaJuan Johnson scored 17 points and Robbie Hummel 14 as the Boilermakers encountered little resistance from the Titans.

12. Oklahoma (1-0) beat American 83-54: Blake Griffin scored 24 points and had a career-high 18 rebounds as the Sooners won their opener for the 22nd time in 24 seasons.

15. Arizona State (1-0) beat Mississippi Valley State 80-64: James Harden's 24 points and 10 assists helped the Sun Devils win their opener for the first time in Herb Sendek's three seasons.

16. Marquette (1-0) beat Houston Baptist 95-64: Wesley Matthews scored a career-high 27 points in a successful debut for coach Buzz Williams.

19. Florida (1-0) beat Toledo 80-58: The Gators, trying to rebound from missing the NCAA tournament for the first time in a decade, won their 18th consecutive season opener.

20. Davidson (1-0) beat Guilford 107-83: Stephen Curry scored a game-high 29 points and led all rebounders with 10 in the win over the Quakers, who lost contact early on an 11-0 Davidson run.

21. Wake Forest (1-0) beat North Carolina Central 94-48: Al-Farouq Aminu had 21 points and 10 rebounds and the Demon Deacons shot nearly 61 percent.

23. Villanova (1-0) beat Albany, N.Y. 78-60: Six Wildcats scored in double figures, led by three with 13, Corey Stokes, Dante Cunningham, and Scottie Reynolds, who had his in the second half.
