About the Club All you need to know Like to read? That's the only requirement you need to join The Bee Book Club. No membership card. No fees. No lifetime commitment. Sound like a good deal? Here's how we operate: Each month or so, we'll choose a book. We'll announce it in the Scene section of The Sacramento Bee and right here on sacbee.com. We'll publish information about the author, an excerpt from the book and other goodies that might pique your interest. Then it's your turn. Pick up the selection at one of the many participating book stores -- they'll give you a 30 percent discount on the current Club choice when you tell them you're a member -- and give it a read. Then go and meet the author, get an autograph, go home happy. Let's review: You get a new book at a nice discount and the opportunity to meet its writer. All free of membership and admission fees.
