Summer N.I.E. (Grades K-12)

Attention Summer School Teachers:

We encourage you to take advantage of a very unique summer Newspaper In Education program: Summer N.I.E. Instructors can register for Summer N.I.E. anytime from May through August 2004. When you register, The Bee will send you newspaper-based lessons to assist you in planning your summer curriculum. You’ll receive the new N.I.E. instructional C.D. with lessons in all subject areas and for all grade levels. You will also receive your choice of the following teacher guides:

Fundamentals of Education (grades K-12), a guide with lessons in basic skills. The Election (grades 5-12), a guide that focuses on the 2004 Presidential Election. Summer Gold: International Sports Guide (grades 4-8), a guide that will help you prepare for the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Registered teachers will receive these classroom sets of newspapers at no cost to schools within our delivery area. Donations from our sponsors (Bee subscribers, businesses, government agencies and The Bee) make this service possible.

To start your no-cost N.I.E. subscription, simply complete and return the order form below. To obtain the summer order form, simply click on the PDF file option below.

Write in your start and stop dates. Please allow five business days before you schedule your first newspaper delivery. You may receive newspapers on as many days as you like (except Saturdays and school holidays). You can even receive the Sunday edition of The Bee. Your class set of newspapers will be delivered to your school’s main entrance.

Mail your completed order form to Circulation/N.I.E., The Sacramento Bee, P.O. Box 15779, Sacramento, CA 95852. Or fax it to (916) 326-5500. The final registration date for The Bee's summer program is August 6, 2004.

Call (916) 321-1785 (enter option 2) if you want more information about The Bee’s N.I.E. subscription program.
