Tom Knudson has worked at The Bee since 1988. In 1992, he wrote a series of stories about the Sierra Nevada that received a Pulitzer Prize for public service. Knudson also won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting at the Des Moines Register in 1985. This spring, Knudson received a citation for excellence for international environmental reporting from the Overseas Press Club of America for the “State of Denial” series about California's global demand for natural resources. Reporter Mike Lee covers agriculture and biotechnology for The Bee. Before coming to the newspaper in 2003, he worked for another newspaper owned by The McClatchy Co., the Tri-City (Wash.) Herald.
