The County was granted joint use of the facility under terms of the Airport Operating Agreement with the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA). Available records indicate that the military use of the airport was limited to emergency landings. There is no record of any site improvements by the Navy. The lease agreement with Del Norte County was terminated on 10 Feb. 1947. |
| Requa Air Force Station | 53.00 | Crescent City | Requa Air Force Station was established and activated on 1 June 1949 and assigned to the Tenth Air Force, with logistic support from Kinsley Field. The property was originally leased in 1950 and then acquired from PJ Murphy et al by condemnation filed on 3 August 1955. Approximately 43 acres were acquired in fee and an additional ten acres of easement interests were also acquired from the Murphy's. A World War II observation post (Klamath River Radar Station) was built as an observation and listening post between 1941 and 1944 by the Army Air Force. The site was used |
