Camp Flint56.80AuburnIn 1942, the U.S. acquired 0.20 license acre from Southern Pacific Railroad Company, 38.00 lease acres from the City of Auburn, and 18.60 acres from the State of California. The site was used as a headquarters and post for the Military Police Battalion to use as a railroad crossing. The site was reported excess on 15 March 1946. The license was terminated on 30 June 1946. Based on the foregoing, the site has been determined to be formerly used by the DOD and is eligible for the Defense Environmental Restoration Program for Formerly Used Defense Sites, established under 10 U.S.C. 2701 et seq.
Dewitt General Hospital450.22DewittIn 1943, the US acquired 225.11 acres from numerous property owners, 117.71 by direct purchase, 103.20 by declaration of taking and 4.20 acres by easement. The site was known as DeWitt General Hospital, Placer County, CA. The site was used for a 1,515 bed patient general hospital which was used by the Surgeon General to treat war casualties. Improvements at the site included 112 buildings, roads, sports facilities, utilities, and water and sewage treatment plants. On 26 June 1946, all 225.11 acres were declared surplus and transferred to the War Assets Administration (WAA). On 15 March 1947, the WWA deeded by quitclaim all 225.11 acres to the State of CA, with the right to recapture the property in case of national emergency.
Lincoln Radio Beacon Annex0.87LincolnOn 24 Sep. 1957, the US acquired .87 fee acre from Floyd R. Bonniefield. The total acreage acquired was .87. It was situated in Placer County five miles west of Lincoln, CA and was used by the Air Foce as an off base installationto McClellan AFB, CA. A medium power low frequently homer beacon was used a navigational aid site for McClellan AFB. At the time of excess in April 1965, it was reported that the land was not contaminated by live bombs, artillery, projectiles, chemical warfare or radioactive materials. On 11 July 1966, .87 acre was conveyed to Lawrence W. Bonniefield.
Lincoln Auxiliary Field A-2627.87LincolnBetween 1942 and 1944, 627.87 fee acres were acquired to be used as an auxiliary field to Mather Air Force Base. In 1944, the site was declared surplus and was transferred to the WAA. On 02 January 1947, the property was quitclaimed to the City of Lincoln. Based on the foregoing, the site has been determined to be formerly used by the DOD and is eligible for the Defense Environmental Restoration Program for Formerly Used Defense Sites, established under 10 U.S.C. 2701 et seq.
