In 1950, the Department of the Air Force entered into a contract with lumber storage and special millwork services. As a result of excess charges by the corporation, the Government was given a mortgage on the property to secure payment. Soon after the site was acquired, it became an off-base facility of the Sacramento Air Material Area and was leased to Richfield Box Shook. On 23 July 1968, the United States of America acquired fee title to 45.35 acres of land.
