| Hayfork Gap Filler Annex | 0.23 | Hayfork | On 9 September 1958, the U.S. Government acquired .23-permit acre from the Department of Agriculture, U.S. Forest Service. The site was known as the Hayfork Gap Filler Annex and was used by the U.S. Air Force as an unmanned gap filler radar station. Improvements included a concrete block structure, two 22,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs), a steel antenna tower, and an access road. Records indicate that the .23-permit acre was retransferred on 26 April 1963 to the Forest Service. Based on the foregoing findings of fact, the site has been determined to be formerly used by the Department of Defense (DoD). Therefore, it is eligible for the Defense Environmental Restoration Program for Formerly Used Defense Sites, established under 10 U.S.C. 2701 et seq. |
