Kevin Johnson's Oak Park properties

Kevin Johnson's organizations own 37 properties in Oak Park, making him one of the biggest landowners in the neighborhood. Some of these properties -- the 40 Acres complex on Broadway, for example -- are pristine. But most are either vacant or contain run-down buildings worth little. City officials have issued violations at about half of Johnson's properties. The violations range from failing to maintain decrepit, vacant buildings to not keeping lawns trimmed enough to avoid fire hazard.
