The 49ers tendered a contract offer today to their lone restricted free agent, tight end Billy Bajema. The tender is the lowest one possible, meaning that if another team were to steal him away, the 49ers would be compensated with a seventh-round pick, which was Bajema's draft position in 2005. One long-time 49ers observer -- he shall remain nameless -- insists that when Bajema came trotting onto the field this past season, it was a sure sign that something bad was going to happen.
