As expected, cornerback Walt Harris (ACL) has been placed on injured reserve, thus ending his season. That opens up an additional roster spot as the 49ers prepare for their first practice on Saturday. What wasn't expected is that seventh-round draft pick Ricky Jean-Francois arrived at check in yesterday with what the team is calling a "stomach ilness." He has been placed on the non-football illness list (NFIL?) as a precaution but is not expected to miss much practice. With both Ray McDonald (knee) and Jean-Francois sidelined, it likely will mean extra work for undrafted free agent Pannel Egboh.
