Al Davis must be going nuts. Players have only been running the 40-yard dash for a few minutes here in Indianapolis, but there are already some eye-popping times. LSU receiver Trindon Holliday ran an unofficial 4.22, which if it stands up would be the fastest time ever for an NFL combine. Meanwhile, I predicted a couple of days ago that Maryland OT Bruce Campbell would run his 40 in 4.9 seconds. I was wrong. He did it in 4.78. Campbell also kicked out 34 reps in the bench press. Some of you have been asking about San Jose State wideout Kevin Jurovich, who fits the Wes Welker-slot-receiver mold that is all the rage in the NFL right now. Jurovich suffered a turf toe injury on his right big toe during the season and won't run the 40 or take part in the vertical jump. He will participate in the position drills. Jurovich said he'd run at San Jose State's pro day on March 19.
