I have not seen much coverage of the "Green Chemistry" initiative that Cal-EPA launched yesterday. The agency describes it as a "fundamental change" in the way regulators and industry deal with chemical issues, with the goal of preventing toxic contamination before it starts. At least one analyst from a major environmental group tells me that he also thinks it is the real deal, or could be, perhaps the next big environmental issue on the horizon.
