Ron Nehring, the chairman of the California Republican Party, is weighing in on the national GOP debate over the future and direction of the party.
Nehring has written an opinion piece, published on Politico. asking "whether our party needs a 50-state strategy to reassert itself nationally."
In short, he takes both roads at the same time:
Should our party concentrate resources in just a few target states or drive organization and communications capability-building across the country? The answer is both.
Nehring weighs in as chair of the party in the largest state in the country. But California has also voted strongly Democratic for years, including giving President Barack Obama a resounding 3.2 million vote margin-of-victory in 2008.
