To highlight the 24 years he served in the California National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve, DeVore placed his first statewide TV buy on broadcast during the season finale of '24,' FOX's hit drama chronicling a day in the life of the sometimes rogue, always ass-kicking special agent Jack Bauer.
The two ads, which you can watch here, feature endorsements from Rep. Tom McClintock, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher.
Trailing in the polls and lacking the resources to match the TV campaigns of rivals Carly Fiorina and Tom Campbell, DeVore's camp is banking on placing an ad during the last installment of the action-packed series to bring their candidate's case for his conservative credentials in front of Republican viewers.
" '24' has had a very avid conservative, national security-oriented audience," DeVore spokesman Joshua Trevino said. "It's going to reach a lot of people who are going to be very sympathetic to kind of candidate Chuck is."
In addition to the billboard campaign and radio ads, the campaign has also been airing the television spots on Fox News in several large markets in the state.
