Fearing a risk to public safety, Roseville police abandoned a recent vehicle pursuit in which the fleeing car hit speeds of up to 100 mph.
Four days later, the suspected driver and an occupant were arrested at a home in Lincoln, police said.
Art Campos provides more details:
"During the pursuit, officers recorded the vehicle's license plate number," said Dee Dee Gunther, Roseville Police Department spokeswoman. "Several days later, officers went to the home of the registered owner and made the arrests."
The pursuit occurred on the night of March 31, Gunther said.
A Roseville officer tried to stop a woman in a Chevrolet Malibu on Fairway Drive at Pleasant Grove Boulevard after she drove straight through the intersection by using the lane designated for right turns only, she said.
The driver went north on Highway 65 at 100 mph and the officer gave up when the car hit heavy traffic and continued on at about 65 mph, Gunther said.
On Thursday, police visited the car owner's home and arrested Sherry Ann Rhodes, 46, on suspicion of evading an officer with disregard for safety, resisting, driving with a suspended license and violating probation.
Her boyfriend, Kenneth Cook, 40, of Lincoln was arrested on suspicion of violating probation and of resisting or delaying a police officer.
The two were released from jail after posting bail, Gunther said.
